Exeter - Bristol ()

This was a long day.. the longest so far at 77 miles. Followed the route up the M5, but on the back roads up to Taunton, and then along the A38. Was good weather, with a slight tail wind.. Going slowly at the start of the day.. the miles are beginning to tell. Made it to Bristol about 50 mins early, so we stopped to watch planes take off at the airport for a bit. Then went to the suburbs and decided to go on to Avonmouth. City traffic made us lose track of each other till after the suspension bridge, so my Mom didn't get a good photo. We were pretty tired by this time and a little short tempered with our support guy. Stayed at my Mum's cousin's, first night that we get to have a bath.. wonderful.

Bristol - Leominster ()

Left early on , the ride from Avonmouth to the M48 Severn Bridge seemed to take an age.. was a busy road with lots of lorries going to the industrial sites.. lots of fumes. Got lost at the bridge and ended up touring a service station, finally got the right road and made it to Chepstow. From there it was up the Wye Valley.. the most beautiful scenery yet, and the road was fairlyu quite, so we got to enjoy it all the more.. Saw some painters at Tintirn Abbey, and got a few photos.. made it up to the start of the Leominster by-pass.. big hill before Leominster, which was good to get out of the way.. the campsite was back a few miles, and a farm house job, with hens and ducks and a donkey.. great atmosphere, but not the Laundry facility one we had asked for.
